It’s now been 6 months since I relaunched AiGameDev.com as a blog. The process hasn’t been easy, and this last month in particular was rather hard work with so many other things going on. But it’s certainly the most rewarding thing I’ve undertaken in a while — including my other technical projects in the pipeline that still have to show their potential.
Once again, I couldn’t do it without you guys. Thanks for reading and in particular for leaving comments, suggestions or encouragement. I very much appreciate it! Last week’s regular peak of subscribers hit 917, and the start of this week has already overtaken that number easily thanks to the Lyon GDC presumably!
Looking for Writers!
Regardless how much experience you have in game AI, if you’re keen to learn, then writing is a great way to get started. Publishing on AiGameDev.com wouldn’t be a bad thing to add to your CV either! Here are more details about how you can contribute.
Don’t worry, I’ll be there to give you feedback as editor, so there’ll always be help at hand. Just contact me by email if you’re interested.
Win a Copy of AI Game Programming Wisdom 4
There’s an ongoing contest for promoting the blog in which you can win a copy of AI Game Programming Wisdom 4 as it comes out. All you have to do is link to the website with a username of your choice (details here):
Points are earned for sending visitors to the site who then hang around. So get creative and start sending out those links to friends, posting them to relevant forums, or adding them to your blog! There are a couple of entries already, but I’d say the prize is still up for grabs even if you start now…
The target number of subscribers hasn’t reached 1,000 yet, but it should presumably by the end of the month. So, I’m officially setting the deadline for this contest to the 31st January 2008 — as the book should be out shortly after anyway.
I’ve only just got back from GDC, so the wrap-up of the interesting comments contest for November will follow tomorrow.
